Communication
Communication will determine how students will react to you. I have learned that the way you word sentences makes a large difference on the reaction of your students. Learning when to be stern or when to be precise is critical. When you explain something on a test, you must be careful with what you say. On the other hand, when you have to handle a behavioral issue you have to be stern and understand what that child will react to. When I was helping students with a math test on Monday I made sure I explained the question thoroughly, but didn't tell them the answer. I related the problem to them personally so that they could see it more in black and white. Communication determines the demeanor of the classroom.

Very true! Communication is a huge part of teaching. You can not be a successful teacher if you can not communicate to your students effectivly.
