Thoughts

My field experience has been very rewarding. I have been able to see what working in a classroom is really like. The different situations that teachers have to deal with on a daily basis, especially with the diverse personalities that students have. It has also been very interesting to see the way in which students are able to process information at different speeds, I have enjoyed observing this the most. Some students are able to catch on really quick to the storyline while others struggle. In my classroom the CT has a wide range of abilities to with, some students are really good at reading while others greatly struggle. While I am helping out in the classroom, the students pick either reading or writing to start with and then half though the hour they switch. The students enjoy having the choice on what they want to do. This works well because my CT is able to monitor the progress of the students especially with the wide range of abilities.

  1. I can't believe the range of abilities there are within these classes. How the CTs keep track of all the students progress is pretty impressive. It seems like they know where all the students are at and what they can do to push them in their own ZDPs.
