Today, I had a read aloud and overall, I thought it went great. My CT thought it was very nicely done and had a few pointers for me, but the pointers were greatly welcomed! The kindergarteners were kind of hard to keep quiet while I read, but I somewhat expected that. They were just too excited about the book.
We had a fourth person helping in the classroom today. She was helping to teach a lesson while our CT was busy with something else. Even with the fourth person, the kids were still pretty crazy and hard to keep completely under control.
I got to teach a portion of the day on the smart board today for the second time. The smart board is getting easier for me to work with because I have been able to use it more often than in regular class and I can see the students using it as well. I definitely need more work with it, but I am getting better. After a little bit more practice, I will be a professional. Hahaha.
That's great that your read aloud went well! I've done one read aloud so far and the students were just so exicted, they wouldn't sit still. Plus I was reading a book where they could jump in, so it caused a lot of talking. It's hard to read when they're like this, but at least they're excited about the book!
