Daylight Savings Time

I don't know if it is just me, but it seems that daylight savings time has messed up the routine in the classroom. I had a read aloud yesterday. The kids and I were feeling a little off because it was the first day back after daylight savings time. I am learning how to deal with classroom issues and behavioral problems even when I am feeling a little off. I watch my CT and he seems to adjust and keep rolling. I think this is a great trait to learn how to adapt on the fly in the classroom. I think if you let things get to you it could undue the entire day. I think my CT does a great job of refocusing the kids and moving on to the next lesson.

  1. Daylight savings time has had an effect on the students in my classroom as well. They were really full of energy and off task on Monday. My CT, partner, and I spent a lot of the day trying to keep them on task. I also found that my CT can keep a level head even if students were really of task on an activity. She can move past that and not let it get her down. If she did, the entire day would be a battle for her and her students.
