Math Test
Today our first graders were given a math test to see how high they could write their numbers up too (counting by ones). We were told to just walk around, observe them and answer any questions they may have. It was interesting to see the technique each student used to count. For example, some wrote in the tens spot first and went back to fill in the numbers. It also gave me a better understanding of each student's skills not only in counting but writing their numbers also.

I was thinking the same thing today! The students in my classroom were working on math. We had small groups and the students were taking turns at each station. I had no idea there were so many different ways to count! It's interesting to see what kids come up with and how they get their answers.
