National Education Week
Since it was American Education Week all of our students received a pencil, small American flag, and a card for a free scoop of ice-cream . It was so fun to see how excited the students got when they found out what they were getting. They were most excited about the American flag. This made me realize how much little things make children so happy.

Weird, I never heard anything about American Education Week. It's always interesting to see when the kids get a little riled up, even over the smallest things. I love the fact that they were most excited about the American flag!
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more about how little things can make young children so happy! Before Halloween a police officers came into the classroom I'm in and talked about strangers and how to be safe on Halloween. When the police officer was done she gave each student a flashlight and they got so happy you would of thought you just gave them the greatest gift ever. I love their reactions to no only the little things they get but everything.
ReplyDeleteMy class got that stuff too (same school I guess) but my CT just thought the flags were left from Veteran's Day. They were so excited to get them and then instatnly upset becasue they had to put them in their backpacks to head home for the day. Thier mood can change in an instant!
