Non-fiction book
On Thursday, our CT gave us the assignment of reading a non-fiction book to the class. Our first graders are learning about animals and their habitats. During this reading aloud I may have some challenges. I have a "big" book that requires someone else to help me hold the book. With all of our read alouds we have to turn a lesson along with it; because it's a non-fiction book, I not only have to read the book but explain and tell facts about what I am teaching. My lesson plan ended up being about two pages. I hope it goes well, and is not to long and I can keep their attention throughout the learning.

I think that no matter what you read, the students will enjoy it. Some of them do not get read to at home, so when they do in the classroom, they may see it as a treat. Good Luck.
ReplyDeleteHow did your read aloud go?
ReplyDeleteIt went very well! I had two different groups of students to teach, so I had to adjust my teaching to each group but overall they were interested!
