Potty Breaks
One of the worst things happened to my partner. We were doing small guided learning groups also known as centers. My partner was in charge of one center and a little boy asked if he could use the bathroom. My partner was just about finished so he told the boy to wait just a minute until they were done. The little boy had an accident all over the chair and floor seconds after. The little boy was taken down to the nurse and his clothes were changed. We avoided that area until we sent the kids to music then went back and cleaned up. Sometimes teaching is a dirty job. For the rest of this week we let every kid go potty right away when they needed no matter times they asked.

Oh no! That's too bad! I hope your partner doesn't blame himself for that. The kindergarteners I worked with had to go to the bathroom every other second it seemed like. It's normal that young students go to the bathroom alot. Cheer up! Hope your field experience went well! I was sad to see mine end.
ReplyDeletethat sucks. i had a child do the same thing in my classroom too. it is a hard lesson to learn. i had that happen when we had a sub. good thing it happened when there were many people in the class and not just you.
